PromodataProduct Sync
A custom Shopify embedded app that automates the import and synchronisation of promotional products from the Promodata API directly into your Shopify store — no manual data entry, no duplicates, no missed updates.
Built Inside Shopify Admin
Embedded directly into your Shopify Admin — no separate logins, no external tools. Four tabs, everything managed in one place.
⚡ Sync
Start or stop a sync, monitor real-time progress, view live logs, and track stats — products created, updated, and errors.
📦 Products
Browse all Promodata products, search by name or code, filter by status — synced, pending, discontinued, or errors.
🏭 Suppliers
View all 97 Promodata suppliers. Copy supplier IDs to restrict syncs to specific brands or categories only.
⚙️ Settings
Set sync mode, price markup, supplier filters, and toggle discontinued products — no code changes needed.
Everything Included
Every feature below is included in the project build — no extras, no hidden add-ons.
Automated Daily Sync
Products import automatically every day — no manual action. Only new or updated products are processed, keeping your catalogue current while minimising API usage.
Smart Duplicate Prevention
Three-level matching — Promodata ID tag, SKU/product code, then product title. Existing products are safely updated, never duplicated. Works with your existing catalogue.
Automated Email Reports
After every sync you receive a summary — products created, updated, total processed, time taken. Error details go to us separately so you only ever see clean success reports.
Real-Time Sync Monitoring
Watch the sync run live from within Shopify Admin. Real-time progress, live log entries, and running totals of created vs updated vs errored products as it happens.
Supplier Filtering
Browse all 97 Promodata suppliers inside the app. Copy supplier IDs into Settings to restrict syncs to specific brands — only the products you want in your store.
Configurable Price Markup
Set a percentage markup on Promodata base cost prices. A 30% markup on a $10.00 cost sets your Shopify price to $13.00. Adjustable any time from Settings — no code changes needed.
Full Product Data Mapping
All Promodata fields mapped to Shopify — title, description, variants, colours, images, pricing, tags, and supplier info. Complete data, no manual cleanup required.
Incremental Sync Mode
Only products changed since the last sync are fetched — faster, lighter, and well within Shopify and Promodata API rate limits. No throttling, no failures.
API Rate Limit Handling
Built-in retry logic handles Shopify API rate limits automatically. Syncs continue without interruption and without requiring manual restarts or developer intervention.
How It Works
From Promodata API to live Shopify products — fully automated after a simple one-time setup.
Connect Your Promodata Account
Your Promodata subscription key is entered once in app settings. The app connects immediately and pulls your full authorised catalogue — all 97 suppliers ready to browse and filter.
🔑 One-time setupConfigure Your Rules
Choose which suppliers to include, set your price markup, and select sync mode. All settings live inside Shopify Admin and can be adjusted any time without touching code.

FAQ
Do I need a Promodata account?
Yes — you need an active Promodata membership with API access enabled. Contact Promodata directly to enable API access on your account if it’s not already active.
Will it affect my existing Shopify products?
The app uses three-level matching to safely detect existing products before doing anything. If a match is found it updates only changed fields — if not, it creates new. Products not in Promodata are never touched.
Can I control which suppliers get synced?
Yes. The Suppliers tab lists all 97 available Promodata suppliers. Copy specific supplier IDs into Settings to restrict syncs to only those brands — only the products you want in your store.
What happens if the sync fails?
We receive an error notification immediately and resolve it as part of the monthly retainer. You receive a clean success report after every sync — technical details are handled on our end.
Can I adjust my price markup later?
Yes — the markup percentage is configurable in the Settings tab inside Shopify Admin. Adjust it any time and it applies on the next sync. No code changes, no developer needed.
How long does the build take?
8 weeks from deposit to go-live — including API integration, dashboard development, testing with live Promodata data, duplicate prevention validation, and final Shopify deployment.
